Home sweet home

so this post is mainly for my dear parents and friends who might feel concern and worry about me having moved in a new room, alone and not on the campus! check the pictures out and you will see that i could not find better for that price (im saying considering that i came late on the market).

Yes... while watching sex and the city now i can eat my home made food tranquilou!! So please visit me anytime, :D

EEG studies

Hi dear:

One of the most time consumming part of my job is to select some human subject and perform some mesurement on their brain. The recording im using is named EEGs for electroencephalograms. Simply speaking it's a recording of the surface eletrical activity of the brain. We can actually extract numerous information from this record and actually use it as a diagnosis tool, which is good for mental altered people (or insane people) but its also an interesting insight onthe brain mechanism just so we understand the brain better!

I spend this week end doing 8 recordings (12 more to go) and i was one of the subjects.

Moving

Hi dear:

    a post that might sound more like unrelated and totally meaningless to you, now you are warned.

    I'm moving (again). Since i have been in my korean university i did change several times ( probably too much) my living place. Travelling from place to place dorm to dorms, ending up in appartments for foreigners (yay).

    Of course, those university dorms are pretty cheap and offer lots of advantages such as free internet, water, heater for a cheap price (100$ a month). However, the actual face of the appartment is much less astonishing. See: living in a over 40 years old building, which looks more like it has been abandonned decades ago than hosted by little tiny foreigners, this fact change the whole thing. Crappy appartment (same for rooms) are more of a bacteria concentration than a proper living place. My health did indeed suffer from that.

    Old appartments aren't necessarily hard to handle but those in my university deserve to be , i would say, TOTALLY rebuild!!!!

     After more than 2 years of such a life, fighting virus and fungus (probably more species) and especially the apparition of allergia (which i never had before), i said to my self move! And i did.
     My Girlfriend came this week end and helped me out in finding a new flat (more a studio) for a quite reasonnable price. As a result next week i will be for the first time of my life living alone in my own appartment and engaged in a more independent and maybe more interesting adventure: out of the campus.

     Yes first time alone in a flat: i've always been living with someone so far, girlfriends, roomies or my parents, but now... i'm a grown-up... hum nope let's say, i'm stepping up in a whole new level ^^.

Twin Birthday

Hey dear:

   to make this post a little bit less selfish, it wasn't for me anyway:

   totale dedicace a ma Twin: Flor.... JOYEUX ANNIVERSAIRE et pleins de bonnes choses quoi.

   I know its her birthday because she's my twin, so it's my birthday too!!! (i got to keep such references because my brain doesnt authorize more efforts).

     Anyway, on my behalf have a nice day (sunday) and enjoy life dears!!!

Class...what again????

Hi dear folks:

hey see, i could be like 25, working for a phd (doctorant) and still having classes. See me!!! Yeah

Ok let me complain a little bit more, because with the coming semester i'm going to be busier than ever!!!

1- research projects
2- classes
3- music
4- sports
5- girlfriend

The order represent the time that i spend for it, and unfortunatelly i dont spend enough time with my girlfriend, i wish i could do something about it. Which makes me think about other people in the same case than me. A major motivation i had to come to korea was for her, and still there is this reduced, and nevertheless huge gap between us!
I like to go and see her the week ends it's my refreshing time, and probably the besti have in the week, thought that it's also the think that exhaust me the most... (about 5h of travelling by bus or/and train + subway + taxi) yeah pretty busy so to speak.

I wish you guys understand that if you dont have the distance problem well you shall not see the real difficulty in practice. Anyway any relation has its difficulties, but when life doesnt make it easier!!!

Man just enjoy life, you'll think later... i do i do love life ^^.

Lauching Website

Hi dear all:

   I think i am very glad and proud to officially launch the website of my band which website is of course not yet finished but te main features are available and few description of our work as well.

I hope that i could work more on this website but as you know hte time is quite short
nevertheless it's official now: Bobby Grovy is part of the World wide web.

   Enjoy and give me some comments (to make it look better).

New website in preparation

Hi dear readers:

   sorry again for the latency, let's say for a x-time that i was busy.

   Happy new yeatr to those i could not wish it, and here are some fresh news.

First of all the project of website for my current band and in complement for my side-projects (musically speaking) is about to be finish and the link will be displayed and advertised the right time.

   Meanwhile you could suggest what you think is appropriate for a website dedicated to music, the current sections are:

    home introduction
    profile of the members of the groups
    our composition to play
    some video of us if available
    the concerts and events
    other projects (mines)
    contact

I will do my best to translate this website in 3 languages english/french/korean so that a maximum number of my friends could read it without effort.

The content is a little bit hard to complete, since our band is young and is quite poor in experience but i guess by making this first step of advertising we might want to improve our art to sustain a high standard of music and above all fulfill our passion the better way!

Nowadays let's say that this is the main motivation i have: the design of this page... hoping you will like it hehe.

First thoughts of the year

Hi dears:

here i am standing in front of my desk and figuring out how to manage this new year in order to head towards the right end.

By this fancy sentence i just mean that i feel like i need a change, and i am not talking just eating healthy instead of oily as usual, but more like changing place, country, university... who knows.

A profound reconsideration of my path has finally came to my thoughts. I wish i could do something about it now, but it's more like i need quite some time to figure it out and make the right decision. I wanna try another university, but is it possible? At least from a funding point of view it could be hard.

I have some countries in mind and UK or US are one them. But considering those two countries, which differs a lot from the educational system of France, the total cost would rise up to 10 000 euros a years ( in expenses) instead of 10 000 euros here in Korea of pure benefit (since my scholarship covers a lot ). Just to think about that I cope with serious difficulties.

Well give me sometime to think about and I'll let you know.

BY the way, how's the weather in your region? freaky cold ? Can you feel that our planet is having problem in maintaining a real season?

Happy New Year

Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away .... lalalalalal

How are you dear? A new year came and what happened for you, how did you live it ?

Personnally i was in Seoul, the hot area regrouping all of the yougth of korea (korean and international), and in this place i joined few friends for a small new year celebration.

We went together to a Club called Eden. Shoes off, cozy atmosphere, white floor and walls. We felt like in paradize. The concept was good: being in a place where you could walk bare feet and feel like a child new borned ( yes some felt good to wear less clothes). And suddenly came the final moment of this year 2006. We jump, kiss and drink .... and the night goes on... move to another club.... dance all night.

For sure i did not feel like a break between the two years, maybe because i missed the famous ingredients of it: resolutions, family, champagne and more happyness. May be. Sure thing is that i have few change to make in my future life and i am more determined now so i might go for it harder.

I Wish you guys happyness, health and wealth. Time will give you what you want and what you need, just left for you to try reaching those things.

Struggles and prejudices

Hi dear:

    Life is continuously full of surprises... and we all live for that somehow.
    Two weeks ago, i did my third TVshow in korea. Yes 3rd one, which makes you think i am now a super star but not at all, and i am far to think that way.

     The two first shows i have been doing were folk shows, featuring foreigners involved in the korean traditions... well i am not really that kind of foreigner since the main tradition i understand is the weekly drinking party with my labmates. Nevertheless, i did such shows showing myself preparing korean food of different kind and speaking the few words i knew from this beautiful language that korean is.

       The third show was of another kind, it was in the biggest local broadcasting company of our district and it integrated most of the characteristics of the tv-shows included in my standards.

       There is a video somewhere on the web which i had some difficulties to access so i am not yet able to shame myself on this blog (not yet). To summarize the thing:

    - wake up 6am and arrive at the TV main building at 7am.
    - start to understand that there was a script (dialogues and timing)
    - start to understand that the show is a live and that it will start in less than one hour.
    - feel a undescribbing stress due to the misunderstanding with what we have to do, because of the life thing there is not much space for improvisation.
    - start to understand that they want me to sing a song (considering that i am still surprise about that and not ready at all!!!!!)
    - pass the interview, the awful moment of an unprepared live song ... we start to relax.
    - never do such thing again if i am not well prepared or awaken!

     there you are... and soon the pictures or a movie for you to laugh and cry... that was a true struggle and prejudice time.
